Sub-Urban

Urban Outfitters isn't stopping anytime soon with the collaborations—and that's fine with me, because they've been making some pretty cool brands more affordable in the process. Starting this month, LA-based Grey Ant—who are known for their very wearable frocks and high-waisted denim—will launch Grey Antics and it will be sold exclusively at Urban Outfitters.

Next up this fall will be knitwear company Spring & Clifton with their gym-inspired suspender tops (which I'm loving) and zip-up jackets. The pieces will start arriving in September, with new batches following in October and November.

The Face

Daniel Gray has started a flickr group of covers and spreads from the legend that is The Face magazine. Often referred to as the "80s fashion bible", The Face was successful at keeping a finger on the pulse of youth culture, much in the way I-D does today. Famed designer and typographer Neville Brody was Art Director from 1981-1986 although it's best-selling period was in the mid 90s under editor Richeard Benson. The magazine shut down in 2004 due to too many competitors and poor ad revenue. I have only two issues which I referred to constantly in my senior year of design school- even 5 years later, they are groundbreaking in terms of photography, design, and styling.

Anthem Magazine, No 35

This is my favorite outfit from the "Girl Next Door" editorial in the current issue of Anthem. I already tried to find that t-shirt, but it's long gone.

T-shirt by Supreme; Jeans by Cheap Monday; pink shrug by Betsey Johnson; aviator sunglasses by Linda Farrow Vintage
