Cheetah platform boots (these remind me of the Ashish for Topshop wedges); Snakeskin wedge booties; Bee Fly stretchy ankle boots; Fly London boots

Ugly is the new black
With all the killer platform wedge boots both lighting up and boring my eyes lately, I thought I'd see what sort of 90s predecessors and weird styles I could dig up on ebay. If you share the same attraction to questionable shoes as I do, then you might be in luck (these are all size 6.5 for some reason). Use your imagination people- these could be the start of a rad outfit!

Too bad my feet aren't that small...

dude i don't know i think you might have to convince me otherwise cause i might throw up on myself while walking if i looked down and was wearing these shoes. sorry
Tina: that's why i called the post "ugly is the new black" and called my OWN taste questionable in shoes. I don't expect everyone to love them, especially not you since our style is so different!! I blame it on looking at old issues of i-D, topshop unique fall 09, and watching party monster recently. the point was to show some of the styles that basically inspired/dictated all the platform wedges you see now which are essentially a toned-down, more simplified version of 90s club kid/raver/spice girl shoes, hence what i was trying to hint at here!! it goes without saying, styling is everything.
xx amanda
I remember when Hot Topic sold those leopard ones...because I had the sandal version. Hottt Love your blog, btw.
Makes UGGs look stylish if you ask me. I'd rather wear crocs (I went there!).
great picks! i especially like the last ones, the turquoise ones. i'm assuming those were once clear buckles/straps that have yellowed over the years, but they look like bike lights!
looking at these makes me reflect on how my tastes (and trends in general) have changed; in the 90s, i was all about chunky shoes like these, then in the early noughties it was all about a more streamlined, snug shoe. now these bad boys are coming back, and i like them all over again! of course, as you said, with the right styling. ;)
these are on path...
