Good enough to waste some time

Dagger snowflakes plunging into my eyeballs, invisible storm grates, soaked scarves....all products of today's "snowpocalypse". All it takes is one big storm to hit NY and seriously that's it. I'm ready to move onto the next season where the only white stuff I have to worry about falling from the sky is bird poop. Summer in New York is like nothing else and every time I watch this video it gives me chills- as simple as it might be, it captures an indescribable feeling. Kleerup & Robyn is a match made in Swedish pop heaven.

Circle square triangle

Remember that learning toy you probably had or played with in a doctor's office as a little kid- the one where you matched the different shapes into their matching hole? These Junya Watanabe belts totally remind me of that! I can have fun with shapes as a grown kid too can't I? They match the geometric cutout brogues he did for Spring 2010- equally as rad.

They're all gonna laugh at you

I finally got my Tauba Auerbach-designed CDG Shirt ad (aka "poor man's art"), carefully took an exacto to it and put it in a Muji frame right away. I was misinformed that it was in the Oct. '08 issue of Vanity Fair- was actually in the Sept. '08 issue of i-D! Now the wall is always laughing at me.

Speaking of sillyness, will someone please go buy these amazing Issey Miyake Pleats Please rubber polka dot shoes on ebay!? They are not my size or I'd be all over that shit.

Sun gods

Last year it was vampires, in 2010 it's sun gods. Karen Walker wins again, what can I say? For her 5th time showing her eyewear skills, Karen pays tribute to the sun gods with a 35-piece collection shot by NY-based photographer Derek Kettela. I can't wait to see these paired with her fall collection later this week. I think the angular styles look really fresh but if none of these are your steez, you gotta go see the rest!

SU YOON

While working the COMPASS show last week, one brand really stood out in the sea of sneakers and boots, NYC based SU YOON. Launching in Fall 2010, the collection features a mixture of traditional materials, unique hardware, and sport influences such as EVA rubber inserts, knee pads, and color-blocking executions. These details help support re-engineered silhouettes such as the “not so basic” pump, a sculpted wooden wedge, the “everyday” flat boot, and an over-the-knee boot. The black over the knee boot had flourescent pink leather lining and a hidden wedge in the heel to give even more height.
