Karen Walker SALE

Estile is having a huge sale on Karen Walker sunglasses. Get 'em before they are gone! Here is the Is Mental invite for Estile. Happy Shopping!

*Just thought I'd point out that Estile is Australia-based so it's different than other sample sale sites like Gilt Groupe and HauteLook. Some of the previous sales on the site included designers like Josh Goot, LIFEwithBIRD, and The Cassette Society.

Luella x Linda Farrow glasses

Luella's SS08 collection had a lot of quirky elements like the batman prints and these geek-chic square frame glasses seen on a few models. They were a collaboration between Luella and Linda Farrow for the collection and now they are available online! A little bit of Thora Birch from Ghost World meets 90s festival-goer would make a great reference for the look.

thanks to Bunny for the tip

Alexander Hi Tek

During one of my routine searches for unique sunglasses on ebay, I came across all these amazing frames by a London company called Alexander Hi Tek that has been making them since the 80s. The ebay store carries many of their discontinued styles but the website sells many cool styles as well. From plastic round shades to the stainless steel flip-up steampunk glasses—they make so many crazy designs. If you like unique eyewear, these are definitely worth adding to your collection and the prices are reasonable too. If you explore their site a bit, you'll find other wearables with a similar aesthetic, like stainless steel masks(?), watches, as well as these disc earrings that are pretty awesome.

I only have eyes for you

In case you didn't know, Amanda and I have a partial obession with eyewear. (well, we have lots of obsessions, but lets focus here!) I was browsing around ebay today and I came across this vintage eyewear store.

Queue sensory overload—I think the second frames down will be mine by week's end...and I think Amanda would look stunning in those zebra frames.

Nerd alert

I've been obssesed with these Chanel frames since February. They are almost impossible to find at retail- you either have to special order them, or find them on the web, but they are clearly worth the hunt.

Master of Disguise

The days are getting warmer and the sun is shining brighter which means you better be prepared to protect your eyes. With 32 quirky frames to choose from, Karen Walker's 08/09 Eyewear Collection is the perfect compliment to your summer wardrobe.

Simple Sunnies

Mary Ping's Slow and Steady Wins the Race sunglasses collection is reduced and purified in design to the elementary characteristics of eyewear: lens shape, frame shape, and fixtures. With eyewear being a huge trend right now, I'm gravitating more towards frames that stand out a bit, and these definitely do that. They have a quirky, yet retro feeling to them that could bring any outfit to life.
