California Love

Summer seems to be the time when irony goes hand-in-hand with dripping sweat and cutoffs. So it's perfect timing that America's favorite hipster photog, Mark Hunter aka The Cobrasnake, has teamed up with my fave kitschy shoe brand Irregular Choice for the release of a limited edition shoe. "The Chica" American flag platform wedge is available for preorder starting today and ships out June 15 (so you should have them in time for your independence day parties woooo!). Don't sleep on these- my girl at IC informed me there are only 72 pairs available! Get them in the Cobra Shop or irregularchoice.com.

New Highs

I was stoked to find in my inbox this morning an email from one of my fave LA shops, New High (M)art, announcing that their webstore finally launched. Before now, I would obsessively scroll through their flickr feed to see what new products were in store. Now you can shop their crazy assortment of unique designer wares—from couture head pieces to intergalactic leggings.

The shop specializes in showcasing undiscovered talent alongside a few already-established (but still fresh) names like Alex & Chloe and Grey Ant. They seriously carry the most interesting selection of accessories I've seen as of late and prices are pretty reasonable. They promise to add new merchandise daily so this will be one webshop I will be checking a lot. Oh and right now they are offering 09% off for the rest of January. Just enter "NEWYEAR" at checkout.

A few of my fave items in the shop:

Peggy Noland Thread Vest

Miss Mars MC Satin Pant

Marvin y Quetzal Platform Shoes

Cheap Peace

I'm not one to go buy something just because it's limited or exclusive, but I may try to get these "Cheap Peace by Cheap Monday" jeans created exclusively for Barneys because I'm all for peace and denim. Available starting tomorrow, the jeans will come in black or blue in their signature skinny style. They will retail for the same as any other pair of Cheap Mondays ($65) but will have an 'Increase the Peace' patch on the back pocket. Now that's a genius marketing ploy if I've ever seen one, seeing as this coincides with election day, but it's one of the better ones I've seen at least. Like do you really need the lure of free donuts to go vote?

The Second Big Bang

As part of New High (M)art's latest installment entitled Cosmic Collision, one of the sci-fi collections available in the shop is from Spacelite Vintage. With a hyper pairing of the past and future, Spacelite has contributed some amazing metallic and night-black garments available for a limited time in the store. If you don't live near LA, don't fret, as there will be an online store up soon and until then you can view a lot of the items on flickr and email for purchase inquiries.

I'll Take Vanilla Please

How awesome are these all white Dr. Martens? The same color from heel tab to outsole, they are part of the new Monotone collection only available at Beams stores in Japan. Sigh...

**Update: They are available online too at Oki-Ni!

Hint Shop Exclusive

Rad Hourani is a fashion designer known for combining extreme minimalism with androgyny. So it makes sense that he created this unisex t-shirt/dress for Hint Mag that can be worn by anyone, anytime. It's printed with dates and times from a calender and it's the first item from Rad's second line. Pick one up here.

The Rage

If you want to carry "fierce" in your hand this fall, then you need the limited edition spike clutch by Burberry. Unfortunately, this won't double as a weapon (damn it) since the spikes actually dangle like beads, but it will sure make you look like a black metal turned high fashion worshiper. There's actually a waiting list started already online and in Burberry stores for first dibs on this crazy thing. Shit, if two grand was chump change to me, I'd sign up right now.

YSL Gloss

FYI, I just got an email from YSL's customer service telling me that the limited YSL gloss in Pur Black will be stocked on the website again within two weeks. Go sign up for their newsletter if you want to be notified when.

M.I.A.'s Clothing Line is Here!

A few months ago, M.I.A. fans learned of her limited edition clothing line in the works. Well it dropped today! The collection is called Okley Run and it is overflowing with juicy prints (like a watermelon hoodie) and ethnic designs inspired by Mexico and Africa. Pieces include leggings, tees, sweatshirts, and a hot spandex jumper. Prices start at $65 for a tank up to $210 for the Mexico jacket.

The limited edition collection is currently available exclusively through MIAUK.com & at Opening Ceremony in NY and LA.

Black lips

Any other goth-wannabes out there that tried to get their hands on the limited edition YSL black gloss (as seen on the Fall runway), do not cry any tears just yet. I got this note back from YSL upon seeing it had sold out online in 3 days:

Thank you for your interest in Yves Saint Laurent. We are sorry to have disappointed you, as we are out of stock of YSL Gloss Pur Black.

We would like to inform you that limited quantities of this item will be available at YSL counters at Bloomingdale's, Neiman Marcus, and Nordstrom in October.

Thank You

October, how morbidly appropriate.
