Romance Was Born Spring/Summer 2008

Sydney-based Romance Was Born showed their Spring/Summer range last month at Australia Fashion Week. Having dressed the likes of Deborah Harry, Lily Allen, Karen O, and Cyndi Lauper, it's no surprise that the whimsical design duo put on one of the best shows in the Southern Hemisphere this season. Filled with vibrant colors and fabrics, the collection had a cool techno, neo-tribal theme going on. Some highlights for me were the oversized t-shirt dresses, patterned tights, fringed tank tops, graphic jumpers, and pom pom shoes. Hair and make up were amazing too. There were dreadlocks, twisted up-dos, braids, and lots of teasing and crimping. Makeup was done in neon hues with dark liner around the eyes and brightly speckled nails.






















Romance Was Born is carried mostly just in Australia, but at Ksubi's store in NYC for the US market.
