Junya Watanabe Fall 09

Big puffy black sleeping bag coats. That's the story Watanabe wrote this season, along with a few suggestions of draped tunics you might wear underneath. I can imagine his sketchbook started off with the phrase, "How many different ways can you do the puffer?" There were cacoon-style floor length styles, capes, peacoats, space-age sculptural down dress shapes...in the end, he gave us some amazing winter coats that are functional, stylish and would be an excellent investment piece to have for many years to come.
