Nami

Inspired by the interaction of nature and urban life, Nami, a NY native, created her upcoming spring/summer collection entitled "Plants and Rags." I like this concept as a starting-off point, and you can really see the theme in her clothes. Organic Japanese cottons are combined with manmade materials to create looks that focus on silhouette and innovation in patternmaking. After working in design houses in NY, Milan, and Germany, Nami decided to start her own label to focus on exploring her own processes through story, form, and construction. So far, I think she's got a good thing going and I'm gonna look out for her line for sure!
