Knit wit

Who can forget Giles Deacon's gargantuan knit scarves from his Fall 2007 show? It was definitely one of the most, er, eyebrow-raising moments of the year (in fashion of course). As awesome as I thought those were (especially in an editorial context), they looked a bit constricting and unpractical for everyday winter wear. Topshop's Unique line offers up more big knits for this fall, but definitely not the same as Giles. The long ends hanging down are winter's answer to fringe, and these scarves have more of a wrapping, blanket effect than extreme volume. They go for $100, and judging from the warmth and endless layering possibilities these could provide, I think you could more than get your money's worth.
